A good novel tells us the truth about its hero;
But a bad novel tells us the truth about its author.

Greetings, fellow writers!

First and foremost, thank you to Bob Nailor for his outstanding service to the Northwest Ohio Writers' Forum as coordinator of the Northwest Ohio Writers' Conference for the last two years.  He has been instrumental in expanding the scope of the conference and for keeping everything running smoothly.  The NWOWC at the Clarion Hotel on October 25 was very informative, and a lot of fun!  Bob is reading through the evaluations from the conference and over the next few weeks, we'll determine the next steps for the event.

Secondly, thank you to all of the writers who traveled from Columbus and Dayton to join us here in Northwest Ohio!  It was wonderful meeting you all and if you're ever in the neighborhood on the third Saturday of the month, check this page for our meeting location and drop in!

A thousand thank yous to our excellent speakers:  Jerry Simmons, Deanna Adams, Nancy Christie, Jane Friedman, and Pamela Bailar.  You left us all feeling energized and enthusiastic about writing, even with a few "reality checks" thrown in!

We'll give a recap of events and provide some highlights, as well as a handout of key web sites, at the next meeting of the NWOWF on November 15 at the SANGER LIBRARY.

Don't forget, please, to SIGN UP for this popular Works In Progress event.  I have eight names on paper, and have reserved time for three other participants who met us at the Conference.  That's eleven, and at 5 minutes per, that will fill the second hour.  If you still plan to share a portion of something on which you are working, please let me know ASAP at either liz at nwowf dot com or my Yahoo address, writerchick1026 at yahoo dot com.  That way, I know how much time I can spend on Conference Recap and other business the first hour and still leave enough time for everyone to share with the class!

May the Muse be with you!

Liz Irwin
NWOWF President
